Hanoi, March 23, 2026 – Continuing its efforts to promote a culture of safe driving and enhance professional standards in the transport industry, Isuzu Vietnam Co., Ltd. (ISUZU Vietnam) organizes the 2nd Driver Skill Contest on March 28, 2026 under the theme “Takumi – Master of Driver,” bringing together 30 teams with 60 professional drivers from major transport companies nationwide. The program aims to honor professional drivers while promoting a culture of safe and fuel-efficient driving.

“Takumi – Master of Drivers”: The spirit of mastery in professional driving
The theme “Takumi – Master of Drivers” is inspired by Japanese culture, where “Takumi” refers to individuals who achieve mastery through continuous training, discipline, and dedication to their profession.
For ISUZU, the Takumi spirit is not only about driving skills, but also reflects responsibility, careful attention, and the ability to operate vehicles safely and efficiently in every journey.
This spirit forms the foundation for ISUZU to promote a culture of safe driving within the driver community, where drivers contribute not only to vehicle operation but also to road safety and operational efficiency.
A representative of ISUZU Vietnam shared:
“Professional drivers play an important role in ensuring the flow of goods and supporting economic activities every day. Through the Driver Skill Contest, we aim to recognize their contributions and encourage continuous improvement in driving skills and safety awareness.”
A platform to enhance professional driving skills
Following the success of the first season, the 2026 competition brings together 30 teams, each consisting of two professional drivers. The teams will compete in two rounds, the qualifying round and the final round, with the top 10 teams advancing to the final to compete for the competition’s “Takumi – Master of Drivers” title.
The competition is designed to evaluate vehicle control, operational precision, and handling in real-life situations while encouraging safe driving and efficient operations, both essential for commercial drivers.
Beyond competition, the event provides an opportunity for drivers to connect, share experiences, and promote a professional driving culture within the transport community.
A community space for drivers and their families
In addition to the competition activities, the event also features programs aimed at enhancing driving skills, including guidance on safe and fuel-efficient driving (eco-driving seminar) and instruction on how to read the Vehicle Health Report – an exclusive feature for ISUZU customers.
The program also includes a range of activities to support and connect drivers, such as health check services, free haircuts, vehicle inspection and maintenance programs, as well as recreational activities for drivers and their families.
These activities reflect ISUZU’s desire to accompany the driver community not only in their work but also in their daily lives, while also contributing to greater public awareness of road safety.
Support from industry partners
The contest is supported by partners such as Bridgestone, JX Nippon Oil, Petrolimex, and Vietmap, contributing to the promotion of safe driving and sustainable development in the transport industry.
ISUZU’s commitment
Through initiatives like the Driver Skill Contest, ISUZU Vietnam continues to reaffirm its commitment to building a professional driver community and promoting a culture of safe and efficient driving in Vietnam.
ISUZU believes that every driver contributes not only to transportation, but also to road safety and the efficiency of the supply chain.
